Happiness = Bad For Your Health?

I have to admit, the subject line is a little misleading, and yet there is still tons of truth in it depending on your path to happiness.

Anywho, I stumbled across a study done on how lifestyle can affect your epigenetic expression.  In case you aren’t familiar with gene expression, I have an entire ebook on the topic of anti-aging through altering your epigenetic expression from the perspective of nutrition.

Epigenetics is the way in which your genes can be “turned on” or “turned off.”  Meaning, your genes aren’t always doing what they’re designed to do, and your nutrition can directly cause positive gene expression or even negative gene expression.

However, there are other circumstances which can cause adverse or positive gene expression. In fact, they play just as large of a role in your health as nutrition does.

So let’s explore.

Do you have a “someday list?” (Free Meal Plan Download)

Hey you 🙃

It’s been a while since I’ve seen you. You don’t write, you don’t call, you don’t text. Lol.

Actually, it’s totally my fault. I’ve been traveling the world a little.

It’s given me time to read a dozen books, mostly non-fiction, including one a friend shared with me, 84 Charing Cross Road.

It’s a timeless story and touches on a deeper topic, one of our favorite words, “someday.”

In my opinion it’s procrastination disguised in good intentions.

The thing is, time, our most valuable asset, flies by, in case you haven’t noticed 😉.

Before I go any further, I want you to know I’ve got a surprise gift for you. It’s a new meal plan I’ve just created and want to share.

It’s like an easy buttonbut for healthy eating.

8 ways to turn back the clock ⏳

Your DNA doesn’t define your destiny.

What’s in your…. DNA?
(pause meant for effect)

I’m talking to you. 😏

What I mean is, how much blame or applause does your DNA get because  of your current circumstances?

I ask because we give our DNA too much credit and not enough credit to the role that our own actions play in shaping our DNA.

DON’T do these 3 things for Osteoporosis (ps, it’s opposite day!)

Hate Mail.

So I knew I would be getting a couple emails from last week’s news letter.

I realize by saying calcium is “bad”, that I was likely to get some hate mail

(Jk, you ❤️ me. I didn’t get any hate mail)

because most believe that calcium helps prevent  Osteoporosis, right?

That’s a false presumption.

Osteoporosis doesn’t occur because of a lack of calcium.

In fact, the chances are your body already has plenty from your diet.

Healthy diets have plenty of calcium and most processed foods in the westernized world are fortified with more calcium than we need.

In most cases of osteoporosis, your bones just aren’t absorbing calcium properly.

So adding even more calcium to the mix doesn’t necessarily help.

Heart Disease: 1 thing to avoid and 1 thing to do for your ❤️

Hey there.

Happy Valentine’s Day.

Have I got some things for you today.

Today’s issue of Nutrition Weekly is great for both your literal and figurative heart.

Today I’m gonna share one mistake that many make and don’t even
realize it.

It’s so sneaky that other “culprits” get the blame.

Pharmaceutical companies actually benefit from doctors selling the wrong
kinds of solutions.

It’s almost a taboo to even talk about..

..you know, like when we question status quo, Doctors, and question mainstream opinion.

What am I talking about you ask?

1) Perceived causes, like cholesterol and fatty foods,

VS

2) the actual causes of heart disease.
(we’ll discuss one of them today)

Knowing what I’m about to share, just might help turn it all around for  you or someone you know.

Knowing 1 + 2 (from above) = healthier ❤️’s

Tips for Making the Best ☕️ in the 🌎

G’morning!

I hope you found yourself highly inspired and motivated this morning.

If not, I have something that might help.

I was actually writing on another topic that’s not quite finished and then I took a sip of my coffee…

The mug was warm to the touch, delicious aromas hinting of a creamy chocolateness, vanilla, and cinnamon billowing up…

Is it just me or is coffee sometimes comforting, like a comfort food?

Or the way we might gather around a fireplace on a cold snowy Sunday.
Only the mug is like the fireplace for your fingers to gather around.

Then I realized… I make some pretty awesome coffee.
It’s soooo good.  It’s healthy too!  So I had to share.

Have a Cold? Suck on this. (from my new book)

Happy 2017!

Make any New Year’s Resolutions?
I’m not really a huge fan personally.

I mean, why wait till the end/beginning
of the year to start doing something that you know is good for you and that you know will make you happier?

Here’s what I try to do, perhaps it’ll work for you too.

Improve something in your life 1% each day. I know it doesn’t seem like much,

but at the end of the year..
..you’ve improved your life 365%!

How many people do you know that are 365% better human beings at the end of each year?! 💪

Just food for thought and motivation.

So I’ve been working on something big. And since I know you care about your health and you’re big on taking action, I’ll share some of it in a couple minutes.

But have you noticed something lately?

Scientists: “Vegetarians are Sexier” (vegan chili recipe inside)

I recently came across an article in Psychology Today discussing the attractiveness of vegetarians vs their more carnivorous counterparts.

These scientific results support my own personal, and slightly biased results, however, 12 Scientists and 10 Universities can’t be wrong. 😋

Ready? Let’s get to it.

So… the studies split individuals who volunteered for the study into two groups, (a) vegetarian and (b) non-vegetarian.

Ignite Your “Sweet 16 Gene” With This…

Step inside the mind of a famous scientist who made an important and literally, life changing discovery.

What is it?

When I learned this discovery from a widely looked-up-to molecular biologist and award winner from the National Academy of Sciences, I knew it was big.

Lower Cancer Risk by 83% or more

Hey! Was just thinking of you..

THANK YOU for being such a positive role model and action-taker to those around you.

There aren’t many other people that those around you can look up to, so having you as an example is huge for them.

I’m feeling pretty healthy today. Part of the reason has to do with a couple recently published studies I came across.

What’s crazy about it is they explain an enormously overlooked relationship between one particular vitamin and diseases such as cancer.

This post could potentially save your life!
